On October 16 and 17, from K4M made radio contact with ham radio operators at the USS Midway Museum, who were transmitting from the Museum's flight deck.

WWII Veterans, Midway Museum members and the general public were in attendance for this rare event.

The USS Midway was named for the historic World War II victory at Midway Island in 1942, considered the turning point in the Pacific War. It was the first opportunity for the Museum and and its volunteer Amateur Radio operations team to connect with its historical roots.
